A Recent Hair Conversation Across the Pond

Seeker of assistance:

“Hello

I’m from London and recently had issues with my hair suddenly falling out. Have great hair and went to india where it was 40 degrees, don’t think I oiled it enough hence the hair coming out. Never ever had hair issues ever. Always had amazing thick hair. Yes have been colouring it since the age of 23 now 42! It is a tad dry no doubt so will try using ACV no doubt. I drink it once a day anyway so hoping for the hair to stop falling. Any ideas pls do let me know.

Have started putting oil in my hair once a week. Olive oil and coconut I’m hoping it’ll change something in my hair growth.

Your salon staff and going green is what we need back here!

Also have u salon like yours back in London?
Just wanted to say keep
Up your good work as it sounds rewarding and more natural to Environment which is to important these days!

Also any ideas of a more natural and less hair destroying and drying out hair dye? That also might help me.

Thank you and would really appreciate your advice!

Love n blessings
Kind regards”

“Hi —– ——–,
Thank you for reaching out and for your kind words! We hope that our salon and culture motivates and encourages others to go green as well! You are right! Our world NEEDS it!

First of all, let’s try to get down to the root of your dry hair. I have come across thyroid imbalances causing serious dryness down to the ends of the hair. I wonder if you could have your levels checked? Perhaps checking hormone levels as well. Have you started or ended any vitamins or medications? Now, I know some women who really swear by coconut oil, but I have my reservations about it topically. For instance, when we are using coconut oil to swish in our mouths, it PULLS toxins and negative bacteria out, when used on oily skin as a cleanser, it doesn’t add oil, it PULLS oil out, when I’ve had clients come in due to faded fresh color, coconut oil was a common thread between the cases. I LOVE coconut oil internally, but I wonder if it actually pulls the good oils out. I tell my clients that jojoba oil works really great at the scalp because it most mimics your hair’s natural sebum. You can mix in basil, oregano, or thyme essential oil and it helps blood circulation to the follicle. On the ends, I LOVE Camelina Oil mixed with wintergreen and rosemary essential oil for shine. Camelina oil is molecularly very small so it penetrates most deeply into the hair shaft and is rich with antioxidants and omegas. Use heat to get the most of this treatment. You can find Camelina oil as a horse supplement for their manes and hoofs… I had no idea when I first came across this oil, but now it makes so much sense why I love it so much! ACV rinses are still awesome too.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a sister salon in London… that would be a dream for us! We use Organic Colour Systems (from the UK) as our color line. I LOVE IT! No ammonia, No resorcinol, and less than 1% PPD (which is the color itself – needed for permanent coloring). It is oil based and uses Pre Conditioning Treatments to begin balancing and softening the hair before the color is even applied. Heat, oil, and the conditioning are what opens the cuticle layer to allow the color in. So amazing. Lasts the same as traditional color lines. The customer service is excellent and I’m sure they could find you a salon near you. #844-620-3492

I hope all this finds you well and I’ll be looking forward to an update on your hair in a few weeks!

Sustainably,
Nicole ”

We thought it would be cool to post this recent email thread we had as an example of what we do and why we do it. We are experts on all things organic beauty, because it is our passion and our craft. Also at our core, what we offer is care, to anyone who needs it. This correspondence was with someone in another country, it didn’t have any direct benefit to us to help this person. That’s not why Nicole took the time to help her, and its not why our team comes to work everyday. We love helping people to look good and to feel good so that they can be good. We use our knowledge and our skill to help others because that’s who we are and that’s what we love to do everyday. Its our purpose and our passion!
